  16. check on the spot.  Please:  ONLY REPAIR THE FILE IF IT'S A TEXTFILE!

  18. Repairing a binary file will result in a Linefeed character appended to
  19. the end of it, probably NOT a good idea!  (But easy to remove if you do
  20. do it accidentally).

  22. * Filenotes will be used as the default description in the "Quick Add"
  23. and "Add from Dir" functions.  If there is no filenote on the file, the
  24. default "Added by Muddles" or the one you specify in the "Quick Add"
  25. function.  However, if there is a filenote, it will be used as the
  26. default description instead.  This will make it much easier to transfer
  27. platforms where the description might already be attached to the file
  28. via a filenote, and using the "Quick Add" function will make them
  29. available to OzMetro completely automatically.

  31. If you want the opportunity to review each file one at a time, use the
  32. "Add from Dir" function, and then you can edit the filenote before
  33. adding the file to the file list.

  35. Beware of TrapDoor-added filenote (eg:  "From 3:622/422.0; Secure NL;
  36. Trx 2f0f32fe/2f0f3259; Time d18a1254;").  These might get included at
  37. some point.  Using the "Add From Dir" menu item will help to avert this
  38. (although take a lot longer to add the files).

  40. Also, the filenote has to be truncated to 76 characters to fit into the
  41. filelist structure.  So you might lose up to the final three characters
  42. of an existing description.  Sorry!
